Accessibility Statement

Effective date: 07.07.2026
exclamation
Disclaimer The Accessibility Statement translated into English (UK) is for information purposes only. In the event of queries or disputes, the parties shall refer to the English version of the Accessibility Statement.

This statement applies to content published on the domain https://wallester.com.
It does not apply to other websites or applications operated by Wallester AS, including the Wallester Client Portal and mobile applications.

This website is operated by Wallester AS, a financial institution licensed in Estonia providing card issuing and payment services. It is designed to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

You should be able to:

  • zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality;
  • navigate most of the website using only a keyboard;
  • navigate most of the website using a modern screen reader and speech recognition software (on your computer or mobile phone);
  • use the website in portrait and landscape orientation and on a range of screen sizes.

1. Legal framework

Wallester AS provides payment services and issues electronic money, which fall within the scope of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility requirements for products and services (the European Accessibility Act). In Estonia, the Directive is transposed by the Products and Services Accessibility Act (Toodete ja teenuste ligipääsetavuse seadus), applicable from 28.06.2025.

This website is designed to comply with the harmonised European standard EN 301.549 v3.2.1 ‘Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services’, which closely follows Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. Our internal audits are additionally benchmarked against the stricter WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria.

2. Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with EN 301.549 v3.2.1 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA, due to the non-compliances listed below.

The website was last tested on 18.05.2026, covering 35 pages. Since the initial full audit in April 2026, the number of accessibility errors identified by our monitoring tools has been reduced by approximately 70% through three completed remediation iterations, including: text alternatives for images and icons, accessible names for interactive controls, visible keyboard focus indicators, keyboard operability of forms and custom select components, corrected ARIA navigation for carousels and the contact form, and keyboard activation of button-styled links.

3. Non-accessible content

Despite our efforts, some content is not yet fully accessible. The known limitations listed below are scheduled for remediation as part of our ongoing accessibility programme. Please contact us if you encounter an issue not listed here.

3.1 Skip navigation: pages do not yet provide a 'skip to content' link as the first focusable element, so keyboard users must tab through the header navigation on each page (WCAG 2.4.1). A fix is in design and development; expected by Q4 2026.

3.2 Moving content: some auto-scrolling tickers, carousels and animated decorative elements do not yet provide a visible pause control and do not fully respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting (WCAG 2.2.2). A fix is in design and development; expected by Q4 2026.

3.3 Carousels: in some carousels, keyboard focus can reach elements inside off-screen slides (WCAG 2.4.3). Expected by Q4 2026.

3.4 Navigation menus and dialogues: some navigation menus and modal dialogue triggers have incomplete ARIA roles and relationships (e.g. missing aria-controls, unlabelled navigation landmarks), which may cause inconsistent screen reader announcements (WCAG 4.1.2, 2.4.3). Expected by Q4 2026.

3.5 New tab links: some links open in a new tab without informing assistive technology users of the context change (WCAG 3.2.2). Expected by Q4 2026.

3.6 Target size and minor issues: a small number of controls (carousel pagination dots, radio inputs) are below the recommended target size (WCAG 2.5.8), and isolated pages have minor heading structure and autocomplete attribute gaps (WCAG 1.3.1, 1.3.5). Expected by Q4 2026.

4. Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 07.07.2026 and reflects the audit results of 18.05.2026.

The statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by Wallester’s design and development teams, using automated monitoring of 35 representative pages (axe-core based tooling with WCAG 2.1 Level AA checks, run regularly since April 2026) combined with manual keyboard and screen reader testing. Audit results, trends and remediation progress are tracked in an internal accessibility Dashboard.
